This woodblock print illustrates a pair of mourning doves enjoying a winter day. One bird looks down at its companion, who is covered in snow. Fresh powder falling from branches as birds came and went inspired the idea.

The artist applies ink to a hand-carved wooden block.
And presses it onto Japanese-made Chiri paper.
