Visiting woodblocks on display at Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts.

I recently took a drive to Brattleboro, VT to see a selection of my multicolor woodblock prints on display during a group show at Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts. If you have never visited Mitchell Giddings, I highly recommend visiting their wonderful gallery space which features a variety of media such as painting, printmaking, collage, assemblage, glass, and more.

Last summer, some of my work was part of the juried group exhibit, Voices, that featured members of Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA. It was through this show that I met gallery owners Petria (Petey) Mitchell and Jim Giddings. Their dedication to the arts is two-fold: in addition to running a gallery, both are established visual artists. They are also big fans of birds, such as myself! After Mitchell visited my studio in Newmarket, NH, I was invited to have my prints included in future exhibits. I am also preparing for my first solo show at Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts from June 15 – July 28, 2019.

The majority of my woodblock prints can take a month or more to produce, depending on the complexity, amount of color, and scale. I’m keeping busy this winter creating new prints for my solo show. This includes the 2′ x 4″ woodblock Eclipse, the 8 color print Cumulus Dove, and my most recent piece, a 2′ x 4′ multi-color woodblock of Night jars in space titled Migration.
